Mechanical Cable Lugs BLMT-M are suitable for aluminium or copper conductors, both solid and stranded - round or sector. The insulation must be stripped from the conductor before inserting it into a cable lug with shear-head bolts. The bolts are tightened using a suitable standard socket spanner until their heads shear off. The tightening torque in Nm is marked on the lug's body. Mechanical cable lugs have a wide scope of application due to the large scope of conductors they can be used with. The lugs fully comply with requirements of standards EN 61238-1-1 and EN 61238-1-3 Class A. Heat shrinkable tube that is delivered at Customer request, ensures perfect sealing and electrical insulation. The lugs are for single use only. The body of the lug is made of aluminium alloy of high strength and resistance to corrosion and the surface is additionally protected by tin-plating.
The lugs are filled with electrical contact grease and sealed with protective cap. The internal surface of the lug is grooved in order to ensure better electrical contact.
