PRE-INSULATED MECHANICAL JOINT IVA

Pre-insulated Mechanical Joint IVA is designed to be used for fast and simple temporary or permanent connection of aluminum or copper overhead conductors of cross-section between 4 mm² and 50 mm². After installing the pre-insulated joint, the overhead connection point remains completely insulated. The main advantage of pre-insulated joint IVA is very easy, reliable and safe establishment of a temporarily active connection point. The joints are equipped with an end cap that maintains water tightness during standby connection. They are made of high-quality materials of high mechanical strength and resistance to environmental effects and UV radiation. Their design provides fast, easy and reliable installation in all weather conditions. They are installed using no special tools and do not contain parts which can fall off during installation. Pre-insulated joints IVA are equipped with shear heads, red on the piercing side and black on the stripping side. The insulation is stripped in the length of 16mm, which is indicated on the body of the joint.

Normal tightening torque is 9 Nm.
Dielectric strength under water is > 6 kV (1 min).

Note: Connection and disconnection under load up to Imax= 90 A is allowed only on the stripping side (black shear head). When re-installing the conductor on the stripping side (black shear head) it is mandatory to use a torque wrench to ensure tightening the bolt to the torque level specified on the bolt. Neither connection and disconnection under load nor re-installation are alowed on the piercing side (red shear head)!
